Hollister Police Animal Care and Services seeking information regarding potentially abused kitten

HOLLISTER, Calif. (KION) Hollister Police Animal Care and Services is seeking information regarding a kitten that they say might have been the victim of animal abuse.

The emaciated kitten was discovered near Fallon Road on Thursday, August 20th around 11:00 a.m.

The kitten had severe burns on its face and body, and further examination found that damage had been sustained to its skin, paw pads and eyes.

The kitten is currently recovering at the Hollister Animal Shelter, where it is responding well to treatment.

Hollister Animal Care and Services is looking into how the kitten sustained its injuries and is asking that anyone with relevant information please contact Animal Control Officer Bautista at Hollister Police Animal Care and Services at (831) 636-4320. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may call WeTip at (800) 78-CRIME. Information provided to WeTip may qualify for a reward.
