Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) There was a special reunion at the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Thursday.

Bella the cat first arrived at the shelter as a stray in 2012 and was adopted by a family.

Bella ended up back in the shelter after a family crisis, and the shelter posted a photo of her online Thursday to help find her a home.

One of those who saw the photo was Bella's original owner who lost her back in 2012. Her owner had moved out of state, but had missed her cat every day.

The owner brought photos to the shelter, and staff were able to identify Bella's markings and the timeline.

It turns out Bella's name is Miley, and she is now going home with her original owner and a microchip.
