Jacob’s Heart organizes birthday parade for teen with cancer

KING CITY, Calif. (KION) 14-year-old Ebony had a birthday to remember this year.

Ebony, who has a type of brain cancer called DIPG, was looking forward to several big events this year, including showing her first prize pig at the fair, her 8th grade graduation and cheerleading with her friends in high school, but Jacob's Heart Children's Cancer Support Services said that COVID-19 made many of those experiences impossible.

To make this birthday memorable despite COVID 19, Ebony's parents, extended family and the team at Jacob's Heart organized a parade.

Jacob's Heart shared video with KION of everyone gathering at Chalone Peaks Middle School to surprise her with a car parade, music, presents and a cheer.
