SAN BENITO COUNTY:

San Benito County Health and Human Services confirms 1,348 total cases of COVID-19.

  • 31 cases remain active
  • 1,306 people have recovered
  • 11 people have died
  • 34 travel-related cases
  • 832 person-to-person transmission
  • 434 community transmission
  • 48 under investigation

San Benito County Health and Human Services says 13,176 people have tested negative. Positive cases range in age from 2 months to 101 years.

According to a state count, two people are currently hospitalized and one is in the ICU.

San Benito County is in the purple tier of the Blueprint for a Safer Economy, meaning many non-essential indoor business operations are closed. Its adjusted case rate at 10.9, and it needs to be at 7 or below to move up. It also has a 7.5% positivity rate, and that needs to be at 8% or below to move up.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY:

There have been 2,394 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Santa Cruz County, according to the Santa Cruz County Health Services Agency. Ten people have died. 2,082 people have recovered from the disease. A total of 47,720 people have tested negative.

  • 65.79% person-to-person transmission
  • 13.60% community transmission
  • 9.65% travel-related

155 have been hospitalized in total. According to a state count, 25 people are currently hospitalized and five are in the ICU.

Santa Cruz County is in the red tier of the Blueprint for a Safer Economy, meaning many non-essential indoor business operations are closed. Its adjusted case rate is at 7.0, and it needs to be below 4 to move up. It also has a 3.5% positivity rate, and that needs to be below 5% to move up. The county needs to meet the criteria for three weeks before moving to the red tier.

MONTEREY COUNTY:

There have been 10,050 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Monterey County. 73 people have died. 7,240 have recovered.

The Monterey County Health Department says their total includes:

  • 1% travel-related cases
  • 46% community-acquired
  • 53% epidemiologically linked to a confirmed case

597 people have been hospitalized in total. According to a state count, 30 people are currently hospitalized and 8 are in the ICU.

Overall, 91,309 tests have been completed in Monterey County, with a positive test rate of 11.01%, according to the county health department.
