Man Arrested, Accused of Stabbing Victim in the Eye

HOLLISTER, Calif. - A man was arrested Thursday evening, on charges he stabbed another man in the eye in Hollister.

At about 5:30 p.m. Hollister Police Officers located 35-year-old Jacob Leonard Arballo on the 100 block of Santa Ana Road. He was taken into custody without incident.

Arballo was booked at the San Benito County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, battery with serious injury and mayhem. He is being held on a bail amount of $180,000.

Shortly before 12:30 a.m. Thursday, a police officer responded to a call of a stabbing in the 100 block of Santa Ana Road. When the officer arrived, he found a 34-year-old male victim who was covering the bloody area around his left eye.

The victim told the officer that Arballo stabbed him in the eye with a weapon and fled the area.

The victim was flown to a Bay Area trauma center for non-life threatening injuries. His condition is not known.
