Missing San Jose State Student Found Safe

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. - According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff, the missing San Jose State student has been located safely. Details are limited at this time about his whereabouts but Central Coast News has confirmed his discovery.

The search began for 22-year-old Gabriel Lorette Smith after he was last seen Monday night in Henry Cowell State Park in Santa Cruz.

Police said a safety department officer cited Smith for illegal camping in the area. Deputies considered Smith to be an at-risk missing person.
