SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif- Deputies have arrested two teenagers who they say admitted to slashing hundreds of car tires in Soquel and causing $50,000 dollars worth of damages.
Deputies said the two suspects went so far as throwing a large rock from a freeway overpass and hitting a vehicle. The driver of the car was not hurt but she was traumatized, said the sheriff's department.
Deputies said they were able to solve this case because of video surveillance, witness statements, and social media information. They also said both of the suspects confessed.
One of the teens even wrote a letter of apology. "I Trully am Sorry for being involved with this situation. I didnt mean or want any of this to happen. I did not --------- slash every tire. I've only done 4 or 5," wrote one of the teens who was arrested.
Both teens are being charged for assault with a deadly weapon and 89 counts of vandalism.
