Salinas DUI Crash and Arrest - Central Coast News KION/KCBA

SALINAS, Calif.--Police have arrested 26-year-old Leah Berlanger for DUI.

They say she was driving her 2006 Mazda 6 northbound on Sherwood Dr. around 6:45 Saturday night when she lost control and struck a power pole near the intersection with Calle Cebu.

The pole was sheared off, causing live wires to fall onto Sherwood Drive.

Berlanger displayed signs of driving under the influence of alcohol, was arrested, and booked into County Jail.

Her vehicle received major front end damage. A PG&E crew was called to replace the damaged pole. Due to obvious safety concerns, officers diverted traffic out of the area for the evening.
