SALINAS, Calif. - Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire that damaged a home in Salinas Friday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to the home in the 400 block of Park Street just before 5 p.m.
Salinas Fire tells us that the fire apparently broke out in the bedroom and quickly spread.
A dog hiding under the bed died and her two puppies are missing.
A fourth dog was spotted in the area of Central Park.
No one else inside the duplex home was hurt.
At one point neighboring homes were threatened, but firefighters worked quickly to put out the flames and prevent damage to those residences.
Damage is estimated at roughly 92-thousand dollars.
