Marina Police Report Spike In Self-Storage Burglaries

MARINA, Calif. - Marina Police are urging the community to be aware and take precautions following a spike in burglaries and thefts from both commercial self-storage units and residential storage sheds throughout the city.

According to police, the thieves appear to operate during both daytime and nighttime hours, targeting unlocked and locked storage facilities, and cutting locks to gain access to the units' contents. Power tools, landscaping tools, electronic devices and other items have been reported stolen.

Police are urging the public to make sure their storage units are locked and the area well-lit. They also encourage people to check their units regularly for any suspected break-ins.
