WATSONVILLE, Calif. - A suspect has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Watsonville that sent a man to a hospital.

Watsonville police say 23-year-old Nathan Navarro stabbed a 23-year-old man three times in a parking lot along the 1700 block of Freedom Boulevard Thursday afternoon.

The victim was admitted to Watsonville Community Hospital and later airlifted to a Bay Area trauma center with life-threatening injuries. As of Friday morning, the victim no longer had life-threatening injuries, police said.

Investigators believe the stabbing occurred after a fight between the two Watsonville men.

Early Friday morning, Navarro was located at a home in the 100 block of Roberta Drive. He was arrested and booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail on attempted murder charges.
