Drug Sales Arrests in Salinas

SALINAS, Calif.--After a 3 three-week drug sales investigation by the Salinas Police Department's Violence Suppression Unit, a search warrant was authored for a residence on the 1100 block of Fairview Ave.

This case was initiated after a citizen came forward to report ongoing drug sales occurring at this location.

Police Officers also observed drug sales take place there. Jose Frias (21) and Robert Frias (35) are both gang affiliated, convicted felons and reside there.

As the SWAT team approached the residence, officers saw one of the Frias brothers throw an object over the fence into the neighbor's backyard. Jose and Robert were both seen in the backyard discarding evidence before leaving through the front door. During the search, a loaded Sig Sauer 9mm sub compact handgun, a loaded Smith & Wesson .38 special revolver and a loaded .357 revolver were found on the property. None of the guns was registered.

Numerous pieces of evidence were located in the house including, more than $10,000 in cash, various types of ammunition, digital scales, surveillance cameras, gang indicia, hashish and over 10 lbs of marijuana. Both Frias brothers were booked on numerous gun, drug sales charges and gang charges.
