SALINAS, Calif.- Salinas police are looking for a woman suspect Monday night wanted for stabbing another woman at a birthday party Sunday on the 300 block of Archer Ave.
Officers said an argument began between the victim and the suspect, which escalated to a knife fight. Officers were able to identify the suspect as Mary Jane Yanez, 32, who was also attending the party. Yanez fled the scene and has not been located.
Yanez is described as a Hispanic female adult, 5'2", 120 lbs., brown hair, brown eyes.
Officers responded to the call on the 300 block of Archer Ave. around 11:32 p.m. Initially none of the involved parties were located. Approximately forty minutes later, officers responded to a local hospital to contact the victim of an assault on Archer Ave. The 31-year-old woman was at the hospital being treated for multiple lacerations to her face , chest and back area.
The victims injuries were serious but nor life threatening.
