SALINAS, Calif.- UPDATE: Salinas police say a child was inside the car when it was shot at several times. The child was not hurt, nor was another passenger. Police are not releasing the age of the child or their relationship to the victim. The 25 year old man who was shot twice in the upper body is listed in serious condition, but is expected to survive. Police believe the shooting is gang related.
1pm Monday:
Salinas police responded a drive-by shooting that left one man with potentially life-threatening injuries mid-morning on Monday.
Officers say when they got on scene the victim was no longer there, but had shown up to Natividad Hospital where he was then flown to a Bay Area hospital.
Police believe at four shots were fired during the drive-by, and at least one bullet hit the apartment complex wall near the corner of East Laurel.
Police are not sure yet whether this shooting is gang related.
12pm Monday:
Salinas police are responding to a shooting at the corner of Laurel and Sanborn. The shooting happened just around 11:30am.
Reports are coming in that at least one victim has already shown up at Natividad Hospital.
Officers originally had a hard time finding the shooting scene, but are now investigating bullet holes found at the apartment complex at the corner of Laurel and Sanborn.
