Salinas Police Search for Driver of Stolen Car

SALINAS, Calif.--A police officer spotted a stolen car this afternoon, in the area of Arcadia Way and Kent Circle. When the officer tried to approcah the blue Toyota Sequoia SUV, the driver got out and ran away.

The officer was able to arrest two other people in the car, 20-year-old Albert Moreno and a 16 year old girl. Moreno was found to be in possession of a loaded semi-atuomatic Glock handgun and is known to be a gang member.

Police set up a perimeter as the driver jumped fences, going from yard to yard. A CHP helicopter also helped in the search, but the driver was not found.

The girl was not charged and released.  Albert Moreno was  booked on numerous gun and gang charges as well as probation violation.
