Man Admits to Shooting at Officers, Gets Jail Time

Posted: Updated:

SALINAS, Calif. - 34 year old Salinas native Nicholas Martinez pleaded no contest in court to firing a gun at police officers.

He was sentenced to nearly 50 years in state prison.

Police say in December of 2010, Martinez fired at two officers after they pulled over his car.

The bullets fired from Martinez came so close to striking the officers, that a bullet hole was found in an officer's sweatshirt.
