SANTA CRUZ, Calif.- Santa Cruz County firefighters said a house on South Palisades caught on fire at about 7:30pm Tuesday night. The home is in the Pleasure Point area of Santa Cruz, off East Cliff Drive. Crews said the fire was out at about 9:30pm and no other homes were threatened.
Fire crews said no one was home at the time and they're still investigating the cause of the fire. Police said residents who live on the street called to report the fire. East Cliff Drive was shut down from 26th Avenue to Palisades to keep traffic out of the area while crews put the fire out.
Fire crews said windy weather made it harder for them to put the flames out.
