Marina Police Have New Details in Weekend Stabbing

Posted: Updated:

MARINA, Calif. - A Sunday night stabbing isn't turning out to be what police thought it was.

Just after 6:30 Sunday night, a juvenile male was attacked and stabbed by several other males.

Monday night, Marina Police said they now believe the attack happened in the 200 block area of Carmel Avenue.

The incident does not appear to be gang-motivated, as initially suspected, but a dispute between the victim and another male suspect.

Marina Police arrested 19-year-old Abraham Vega, of Marina.

The male victim was transported to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment of his injuries. His present medical condition has been upgraded to "Stable".

His wounds now appear not to be life-threatening.

The Marina Police Department asks that anyone who witnessed this incident or who has information which would assist in the investigation and possibly lead to the identification and arrest of additional suspects to call the Marina Police Department at (831) 384-7575 or (831) 884-1266.
