Man Flown to Bay Area After Shooting in Greenfield

GREENFIELD, Calif. - A man was shot while sitting in a park near S. El Camino Real and Elm Avenue around 8:30 Friday night.

Greenfield Police Chief Eric Sills said two men in hooded sweatshirts approached the victim and made unknown gang statements.

One of the suspects then produced a small-caliber handgun and shot the victim several times.

The suspects fled and the victim, ran to the Subway restaurant for help.

When officers arrived, the victim was walking and talking, but was flown to a bay area trauma center as a precaution.

Police are canvassing the area.
