Two Northbound Lanes Closed on 101 Near Crazy Horse Canyon Road

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. - UPDATE: As of 7:30 this morning, CHP has reopened the northbound lanes on Highway 101 near Crazy Horse Canyon Road. Traffic is moving through the area but traffic delays should be expected during the morning commute.

According to California Highway Patrol, two northbound lanes are closed north of Prunedale. Officers said a crane used for the ongoing construction has broken off and blocked the lanes.

Traffic was directed to use the left turn lane and drivers are allowed to turn onto Crazy Horse Canyon Road from Highway 101. Just after 7 am, traffic is moving slowly through the area and the crane is working properly now.

Police said the roadway should be clear in the next 30 minutes. No injuries were reported from the accident.
