Leon Panetta to Finish Defense Secretary Stint at Carmel Valley - Central Coast News KION/KCBA

CARMEL VALLEY, Calif. - It looks like outgoing Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta will finish out his tenure at his Carmel Valley home.

Today, the Pentagon told Central Coast News Panetta will stay on the Central Coast until the Senate votes to confirm former Republican Senatory Chuck Hagel as the new Defense Secretary.

That vote to end a Republican filibuster, which has been delayed Hagel's confirmation for weeks, is expected tomorrow.

Hagel came under Repblican fire for his previous stances on Iran and Israel.
