SALINAS, Calif- Two people were robbed and assaulted as they walked in the area of E. Market St. at Towt Ave. late Saturday night, said police.
The victims, a 62-year-old and a 77 year-old, were approached by three suspects who spoke Spanish and demanded their money. When the victims did not hand over their money right away, they were knocked to the ground and kicked, said police. The suspects took money from the victims and ran way from the area. They were all described as teenage gang members dressed in black clothing, said police.
The victims suffered minor to moderate injury and were treated and released.
