MARINA, Calif. -- In your Central Coast Sports, former NFL players were in Marina to raise money for the Police Activities League.
Dozens of people showed up at California State University, Monterey Bay, on Saturday night to watch the annual all stars basketball game.
Some of the players include former Los Angeles Rams player Tim Collier, wide receiver Mervin Fernandez who played played six seasons with the Raiders, and several others.
They played against Marina Police and other city youth and recreation workers.
"I've realized how much it means to me and how much I used to be in their same shoes and wish I could play with some NFL platers, so I know it's real fun for them and it makes them keep their dream alive," said Joseph Collins of the New York Jets.
He's from Seaside High School and recently signed with the Jets. He used to be part of PAL when he was in high school.
The NFL stars won the game. The score was 59 to 51.
The game brought in more than $5,000.
