CARMEL, Calif- Crews were on scene at Whalers Cove near Lobos Park in Carmel for a water rescue, said the Coast Guard.
Two divers were pulled from the water and had to be taken to the hospital. The Coast Guard said they got the call around 2:42 p.m.
The paramedics had one of the divers on the shore and were giving him CPR. Crews had to search the water to find the second diver, which took about 30 minutes, said the Coast Guard.
According to the Monterey County Sheriff's Department, both of the divers have died. At this point no other information has been released.
