Castroville Baby's Mom Says Suspect's Daughter Partly To Blame

Posted: Updated:

CASTROVILLE, Calif. -- The mother of the 10-month-old Castroville baby found dead in the outskirts of Salinas said she feels the suspect's daughter is partly to blame.

Angelle Negron's body was found at Market and Davis Road. Jesus Espinoza Jr. was caught in Los Angeles and charged with her murder.

Negron's mother, Susan Morales, said the suspect's daughter, Linda Espinoza, claimed she and her father took the girl to Disneyland.

Morales told Central Coast News she later found out the woman was lying to cover for her father. Central Coast News tried learning more about what happened that day, and whether Linda Espinoza felt she had to cover up for her dad.

Over the phone, she told Central Coast News she doesn't want to talk about it, and then hung up the phone shortly after.

Jesus Espinoza's neighbords describe him as a friendly and peaceful man, and relatively new to the Castroville neighborhood.

Negron's autopsy was completed on Wednesday. It's still unclear when the cause of death will be released.
