HOLLISTER, Calif. - On February 17, 2013, Hollister Police Officers attempted to stop a vehicle which led them in a vehicle pursuit through the city of Hollister.
One occupant of the vehicle was eventually arrested for stolen property and evading police.
In the early hours of Sunday, an officer was patrolling the area of Line Street and Nash Road and observed a white Chevrolet Caprice on the roadway traveling with its headlights off.
That officer recognized the white Caprice as a previously reported stolen vehicle.
Officer Rudy Rodriguez initiated a high risk vehicle stop but the driver of the vehicle refused to stop.
After a short pursuit, the vehicle eventually stopped at Dunne Park when the suspect vehicle collided with a tree.
Several occupants exited the vehicle and ran from police.
A 15-year-old male suspect was later found hiding in a backyard of a home on the 500 block of Fifth Street, no other suspects were located.
The 15-year-old juvenile was transported to San Benito Juvenile Hall, where he was booked for theft or unauthorized use of a vehicle, evading a peace officer with reckless driving, buying or receiving stolen property, vandalism and resisting and obstructing a public officer.
Police are looking for assistance in identifying the other occupants of the vehicle.
