SALINAS, Calif. -- The Salinas Police Department contacted several gang members in the Acosta Plaza area who tried running away from them.

Officers said Juan Perez, 26, tried hiding a loaded .357 revolver near his neighbor's fence, while the others went inside of a home and turned the lights off.

Police said Eduardo Manriquez, 20, and two juveniles eventually came out.

Manrique is a gang member out on bail for a gun case.

Norteno gang indicia was found in the home.

Officers also found items from a residential burglary that happened on Feb. 8 on Boston Street. Those items include a 32" Sony TV, a PlayStation, a checkbook and three guns.

They also found items from a home burglary at 916 Acosta Plaza that happened on Jan. 29. Those items include a sterling silver coin and handcuffs.

The glock 10mm handgun that was found had been reported stolen from a burglary in Santa Maria in 2011.

Perez was lodged for numerous firearms, stolen property and gang charges.

Manriquez was lodged for violating his bail terms.
