Man Runs From Officers, Arrested on Drug and Gun Charges

HOLLISTER, Calif. - Hollister Police Officers arrested Greg Larios for gun and drug charges after a car stop and a short foot pursuit early Friday morning. 

At about 1:00 a.m., Larios allegedly ran off during a traffice stop on San Felipe Road.  During the foot pursuit, an officer observed Larios toss a silver handgun onto the roadway.

Larios was eventually caught and arrested near Jerry's Restaurant. 

Officers conducted search of the vehicle in the course of this investigation and located a concealed large knife, ammunition, and a large amount of drugs. Larios was booked into San Benito County Jail for multiple charges including: 

• 25850(c)(3) PC-Gang member carrying a loaded firearm
• 29800 (a)(1) PC-Felon in possession of a firearm
• 12316(B)(1) PC- Prohibited to own ammunition
• 11378 H&S- Possession of a controlled substance
• 148(a)(1) PC- Obstructing an officer
• 21310 PC- Carrying a dirk or dagger.
