Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System Announces New CEO: Matt Gerlach

SALINAS, Calif. -- Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System has announced Matt Gerlach as their new president and CEO. The decision came following a five-month search to find someone to fill the position.

SVMHS said Gerlach is the current Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Glendale Memorial Hospital in southern California. SVMHS board members unanimously voted to approve Gerlach for the job. Gerlach has held several executive positions with Providence Health, Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and USC University Hospital.

SVMHS said Gerlach's salary will be $450,000 a year and his health benefits and pensions will be the same as other SVMH employees.

SVMHS said Gerlach plans to start his CEO position in March.
