Traffic Accident Snarls Traffic in Seaside

SEASIDE, Calif.-  California Highway Patrol is investigating on an accident on Highway 1 near Fremont in Seaside around 4:30pm Saturday afternoon.

Officers said a person in a black Ford Mustang lost control and crashed head-on at full speed into a tow truck on the side of the road.  CHP said the female driver was flown to a Bay Area hospital with serious injuries and two other drivers aren't hurt.

Southbound Highway 1 was shut down for at least an hour.
