MONTEREY, Calif. -- The cooks are hard at work at the Chart House Restaurant, and its been a busy week.
"Probably double to triple what we did a week or two weeks ago after the holiday. You kind of go from zero to 100 very quickly," said Ellen Marconi, Chart House general manager.
Marconi said the restaurant on Cannery Row has been prepping for the AT&T Pro-AM.
"Because we've got so many good records we know how busy its going to be, the orders, more than double. Its all hands on deck, the staff knows not to request any time off during this week," said Marconi.
That's the same story from many of restaurants in Monterey. They said the foot traffic has increased this week and that means more business.
"Probably 85% of the hotel is for AT&T business," said Lorine Prakash who works at Spindrift Inn.
Prakash said last year was a little busier, but compared to their normal weeks the hotel is almost out of room.
"Its a huge part of Monterey County, as far as financially and the hotel business does great, we look forward to it," said Prakash.
Bottom line, businesses in the Monterey Bay are there to please their guests. In hopes that they come back. Pro-AM guest Joe Panko said it works.
"We always come here. Last night there was a big to do, police everywhere down the street, we couldn't get through, come to find out, there were three Presidents in town," said Panko.
For many of these businesses its only going to get busier.
"We are just all hands on deck, all week, going 100 mph and we love it," said Marconi.
