Road Construction for Week of Feb. 10-17

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif.-- Road and Lane Closures Scheduled for Feb. 10 – Feb. 17

Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.


Highway 101 Slope Repair North of Prunedale: Jan. 28 – March

 · Crews will make repairs to a ½ mile section of southbound Hwy. 101 between Rocks Road and Cole Road near Prunedale starting Monday, Jan. 28.
· The #1 (fast) lane will be closed in the southbound direction until Friday, February 1.
· Roadwork hours will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
· Up to 10 minute delays are anticipated.
· Both southbound lanes of Highway. 101 will remain open during the week of February 4-10 for the Pebble Beach golf tournament.
· Roadwork is expected to be completed by the end of March, weather permitting.

Highway 1/Rocky Creek Viaduct Project: Feb 10 – Feb 17

· Daytime roadwork on Highway 1 continues next week from 7 am to 5 pm Monday, Feb. 11 through Friday, Feb. 15
· Overnight closures continue from 9p.m. to 7a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10 through Thursday, Feb. 14 (opening Friday at 7am)
· Highway. 1 @ Rocky Creek has one-way signalized traffic control 24/7.
· Traffic will be stopped for 10 minutes at a time during daytime roadwork.


Highway 1 @ Fremont: Feb. 11 – Feb. 15

· Night work on Highway 1 at Fremont St. will result in closures between the hours of 7 p.m. – 6 a.m. from Sunday, February 10, to Friday, February 15.
· Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.



Highway 1 @ Sand Dunes Drive: Feb. 10 – Feb. 15

· Night work on Highway 1 at Sand Dunes Drive will result in closures between the hours of 8 p.m. – 6 a.m. from Sunday, February 10, to Friday, February 15.
· Motorists can expect delays of approximately 15 minutes.


Highway 1 in Watsonville: Feb. 11 – Feb. 15

· Night work on Highway 1, from Jensen Road to Salinas Road, will result in alternating lane closures—northbound and southbound—between 8 pm and 5 am on Monday, February 11, to Friday, February 15.
· Daytime work on Highway 1, from Salinas Road to the Santa Cruz County Line, will result in alternating lane closures—northbound and southbound—between 7 am and 4 pm on Monday, February 11, to Friday, February 15.
· Motorists can expect delays of approximately 15 minutes.


Highway 68 Between Highway 1 and Laguna Seca: Feb 11 – Feb 15

· Night work on Highway 68 between Hwy 1 and Laguna Seca,. Crews will be conducting drainage work between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., from Monday, February 11, to Friday, February 15.
· Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes


Highway 68 through Salinas: Feb 11 – Feb 15

· Daytime utility work on Highway 68 in Salinas, between Hitchcock Road and John Street, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., from Monday, February 11, to Friday, February 15.


Prunedale Improvement Project – Crazy Horse Canyon Road: Feb 10 – Feb 17

· Night work on Highway 101 between Mallory Canyon Road and Echo Valley Road will close lanes in each direction between 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Monday, February 11, to Friday, February 15.

  • Night work on Crazy Horse Canyon Road will result in flagging for both directions between 7:30 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. from Monday, February 11, to Friday, February 15.
  • Crews will be moving equipment and installing piles.
