Salinas Police Arrest Felon for Possession of a Firearm and Drugs

SALINAS, Calif. -- Police arrested 21-year old Jose Garcia for parole violations, having a gun and drugs. It happened Wednesday night around 8:30 p.m. along John St. & California St.

Officers spotted a taxi with a child without a seat belt on in the back of the car. Police pulled over the driver on John Street. Investigators started to question 21-year old Jose Garcia who was sitting in the back seat. Police said Garcia was uncooperative with them, and asked him to step out of the car. When Garcia exited the car officer spotted a gun in the car where the suspect was sitting.

Police said Garcia was on parole and arrested him for having a gun and possession of marijuana, meth and other parole violations.
