MONTEREY COUNTY- Besides the picturesque views, the stunning celebrities and the lean and tidy professional golfers, you'll find one group working hard at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am to promote what else Monterey County has to offer year-round.
For the first time, the Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau (MCCVB) is hosting an immersive ‘Experience Monterey County' tent at the Pro-Am that will include a host of destination partners and showcase the varied and exciting array of visitor experiences throughout the county. The Monterey County experience will be part of the National Pro-Am Spectator Alley on Peter Hay Golf Course at Pebble Beach Resorts and is open each day of the tournament.
The MCCVB will also hold a putting competition and a business card drawing for prizes.
Wine Enthusiast magazine has recently placed Monterey County on their 2013 Top Ten Wine Travel Destinations list – a list created by their editors who rate wine regions around the world. To help spread the word, the Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association (MCVGA) has teamed up with the MCCVB to represent the award-winning wine destination. MCVGA experts will be present to share wine tasting tips and how to make the most of a wine vacation in Monterey County.
"Monterey County has so much to offer in addition to world-class golf," said Mimi Hahn, Vice President for Marketing and Communications at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in a news release. "Our presence at ‘Experience Monterey' is a great way to remind spectators about the other incredible attractions and activities there are to enjoy while they're here."
