BEN LOMOND, Calif. -- Santa Cruz County Sheriff's deputies said they have identified the body found near the San Lorenzo River as 26-year old Guadalupe Cortes of Soquel.  The coroner's office said Cortes drowned in the river.

Officers said Cortes was last seen swimming with two men in the river near Highlands Park Sunday afternoon. One of those men reported her missing early Monday morning.

Search and rescue teams began their extensive search Monday morning for Cortes. The body was found around 3:30 p.m. just off of the San Lorenzo River downstream from Highlands County Park.

On Tuesday deputies identified the body as Cortes. The coroner's office released the cause of death on Wednesday, citing Cortes accidently drowned and hypothermia contributed to her death.

Santa Cruz County Sheriff's deputies do not suspect any foul play in this death investigation.
