SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -- CHP caught several people underage driving under the influence during Super Bowl weekend.
CHP said a car went into a home along the 300 block of Lakeview Roas in Santa Cruz. Officers said 20-year old Jose Lopez was driving southbound coming home from a Super Bowl party with his girlfriend and two children. Troopers said Lopez lost control of the car and crashed into a home that had several people inside. One woman was trapped under the Ford Fusion. Police said the victim caught under the car was taken to Valley Medical Center by Cal Star for injuries.
CHP said Lopez was taken to the Santa Cruz County Jail and faces charges of DUI, felony child endangerment, driving without insurance and other charges.
There were four other underage DUI drivers in Santa Cruz County. CHP said a 20-year old woman from Santa Cruz was cited for drinking, driving with a suspended license and failing to provide proof of insurance.
Another 19-year old woman was pulled over and arrested on Gross Road at South Rodeo Gulch. Police said she was charged with DUI and possession of hydrocodone without a prescription.
Troopers pulled over a 20-year old woman from Boulder Creek. CHP said she was arrested near Lovers Lane by Bear Creek Road for DUI and driving with a suspended license.
CHP said a 20-year old man from Watsonville was also arrested from DUI on Arista Court.
