Standoff Ongoing After Man Kills Bus Driver and Takes Child in Alabama

MIDLAND CITY, Alabama - CBS is reporting that a standoff is still ongoing today after a man shot and killed a school bus driver outside of Dothan, Alabama.

Police confirmed the man went on a Dale county school bus and shot the driver, 66-year-old Charles Albert Poland Jr. a fled with a six year old. Poland later died from multiple gunshot wounds according to the CBS affiliate, WTVY-TV.

CBS has confirmed that the man is holding the child hostage in a storm-like shelter on his property. The FBI, SWAT and local authorities have been talking with the suspect through a pipe leading into the bunker.
