Man Recovering After Being Shot in Watsonville

WATSONVILLE, Calif. - Watsonville Police are looking for a man responsible for shooting a 23-year-old Hispanic male just after 8 o'clock Tuesday night.

Police responded to a shots fired call near Brewington Avenue and Arbol Drive and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was stabilized and transported to a Bay Area Trauma Center for non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the victim was walking in the area when a vehicle drove by him and stopped. The suspect got out of the vehicle and fired multiple rounds towards the victim, striking him once. Police said he ran back to the vehicle and was seen leaving the area westbound on CrestviewDrive.

Police are investigating the shooting as gang related and anyone with information is asked to call the Watsonville Police Department Crime Tip line at 728-3544 or the Watsonville Police Department Investigation Bureau at 768-3352.

    SALINAS, Calif- Police are responding to a report of a stabbing that happened on East Alisal Friday afternoon. At this time police have E. Bernal at North Main closed off looking for a possible suspect.
    Police responded to a report of a stabbing that happened on East Alisal Friday afternoon. A witness who saw the stabbing tried to help the victim get to the hospital. He carried the suspect to the car and sped towards the hospital, said police.
