MARINA- How do you get your electricity? Imagine using what you throw in the trash to turn it into power!

Monterey Regional Waste Management District is participating in an Anaerobic Digester pilot program.

They digesters are essentially big holding cells for food scraps and yard waste.

Each machine converts the methane gas, from compost, into electricity.

The German technology is the first of its kind in California.
