UPDATE: Freight Train Crashes Into Car In North Monterey County - Central Coast News KION/KCBA

North Monterey County, Calif.-  California Highway Patrol confirms one person is dead after a freight train hit a car at San Juan Road near Alison Lane in Pajaro on Sunday afternoon.  CHP said five people were in the car that's now stuck underneath the train. 

Officers said a female was driving and a mother was sitting in the passenger seat, both with major injuries.  Another female and two grandkids were in the backseat, with minor injuries.  

Multiple emergency units are on scene.  CHP said a coroner was sent out.
