Job Title: Senior Producer

Location: Salinas/Monterey

Station(s):KION/KCBA

 

 Overview of Position:

Central Coast News is searching for a producer that is ready to move on to the management track.  You must be a leader and mentor to a young staff.  This position will work along side the News Direct and Assistant News Director to help mold the daily news product on air and on line.  Candidate must have strong communication and writing skills.

Essential Job Duties:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following

  • Supervise producing staff
  • Quality control of daily production  
  • Ability to write compelling copy for stories and teases
  • Writing and posting for web
  • Coordinate with management between two stations to create and manage product

Required Skills/Education/Certification:

  • At least 2 years producing experience
  • College Degree in Journalism or related field
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Understand news video exists on three screens (TV, Internet & Mobile)
  • Great attitude and leadership skills
