Cal-Am Acquires Garrapata Water System - Central Coast News KION/KCBA

MONTEREY, Calif. -- California American Water announced that the California Public Utilities Commission has approved their application to add the Garrapata Water System in Monterey County.

The new purchase adds about 50 new service connection to customers. Cal-Am already serves more than 100,000 customers in the area.

Now Garrapata customers will be served by water treatment operators, distribution operators and supervisors through the California Department of Public Health.  

Cal-Am said they plan to keep Garrapata's current rate structure until the company's next rate case in 2015.
