Attempted Murder in Salinas: Man Shot on His Way to Work

SALINAS, Calif. -- Police said a 20-year old man was shot Wednesday morning at 7:00 a.m. Officers said it happened a 100 Tampa Street.

Investigators said the victim was shot in the ankle. Police said he was walking out of his home on his way to work and as he was walking to the car two suspects appeared and started shooting.

Police said several shots were fired but only one hit the victim. The 20-year old man was able to get away and called police. Officers said two co-workers showed up to give the victim a ride to work.

The suspects were described as two male Hispanic men dresses in all black clothing. Police said both suspects were holding handguns. The victim told police he did not know either of the suspects who shot at him.

The shooting is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 758-7321.
