CHP Advising Drivers on Highway 17 to Seek Alternate Routes

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - According to the California Highway Patrol, a six car accident closed down Highway 17 near the Santa Cruz/ Santa Clara county line.

The accident happened just before 7 this morning near Alma Bridge in Santa Clara county. CHP advised drivers to seek other routes while the highway was closed for a short period of time.

As of 7:45, the highway has been reopened but be aware of traffic north of the summit.
