SALINAS, Calif. -- Officers arrested 22-year old Jonathan Lara for felony probation and 30-year old Juan Morales after a traffic stop in Salinas. Police said they found meth in his car and was driving with a suspended license.
Officers said it happened Monday just before 8:00 p.m. on the 900 block of Circle Drive. Police said as they drove up to the Ford Expedition. Officers said Jonathan Lara is a known gang member and jumped out of the car and tried to escape before the car was fully stopped. Police caught up to him and arrested him a short distance away.
Police said the driver, Juan Morales was driving on a suspended license and had meth in the car. Officers said a second passenger in the car was released without any charges.
Lara and Morales were taken to the Monterey County Jail. Lara faces charges of resisting arrest and violation of probation. Morales faces charges of driving on a suspended license and possession of methamphetamine.
