SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- If you're looking to fly to New Orleans for Superbowl XLVII, get ready to reach deep within your wallet. According to several travel websites, nonstop flights from San Francisco International Airport to the Big Easy are going for over $1,000.
The cheapest rountrip flight, according to travel website Orbitz.com, is going for a $1428.59, but that is not nonstop. Flights each way have one stop. The most expensive is going for $2881.60, with both flights stopping once. United Airlines is the only airline that offers regularly scheduled nonstop flights between the bay area and New Orleans, and only one scheduled United Airlines nonstop flight is still available. That flight is going for nearly $3,000.
Budget airline Southwest is also offering nonstop flights between SFO and New Orleans for Super Bowl weekend. According to Southwest.com, most of the nonstop flights are already sold out, and the others are going for a total of over $1,000.
