SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -- Police arrested 20-year old Jonah Namauu of Santa Cruz after a drive-by shooting.
Police said it happened Friday morning on the 900 block of Laurel Street. Witnesses told police there was a verbal argument between two men on the street. Officers said one shot was fired from a black Volkswagen Jetta by the driver.
Investigators said the bullet went through the fence of a home. Police said no one was injured.
Officers were able to locate two men who ran from the scene. Police said they were found hiding in an apartment. They said the two people were uncooperative in the investigation.
A few minutes later the suspect's car was spotted a few blocks away from where the shooting happened. A school resource officer from Santa Cruz High followed the car to the 100 block of Center and pulled the suspect over.
Police said the driver, 20-year old Jonah Namauu was arrested and booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail for discharging a firearm in a school zone, possessing a firearm in a school zone, discharging a firearm from a vehicle and keeping a loaded gun in the car.
Officers were able to recover the Glock model 17 handgun from Namauu's car. Police still don't know a motive for the shooting.
