The International Olympic Committee has stripped Lance Armstrong of the bronze medal he won at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, an IOC spokesman said Thursday.
This is just the latest development in the doping scandal surrounding the disgraced cyclist. In October, the International Cycling Union stripped Armstrong of his Tour de France titles.
The move comes just before a televised interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which Armstrong is believed to admit for the first time he used performance-enhancing drugs during his career. The two-part interview is set to air on Thursday and Friday nights.
