Should California Increase the State Minimum Wage?

SALINAS, Calif- A local assemblymember has introduced a bill to increase the state minimum wage.

Currently the state minimum wage is at $8.00 per hour. Assemblymember Luis Alejo (D-Salinas) wants the state minimum wage to $9.25 per hour. The bill would allow for the increase to take place over a three year period.
