LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Proving the 70th Annual Golden Globes was more than just Hollywood's night to party, the film "Argo" stole the show, winning Best Motion Picture Drama and Best Director for Ben Affleck, despite being snubbed for an Oscar nomination.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association sang praises for the A-list adaptation of "Les Miserables," and it's stars Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway also won in their categories.
Favorite to win Daniel Day Lewis took the gold for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for his role as "Lincoln," and "Zero Dark Thirty's" Jessica Chastain won Best Actress honors.
Jennifer Lawrence accepted the Best Acctress in a Musical or Comedy for "silver Linings Playbook," and Christoph Waltz represented for "Django Unchained" while hie director, Quentin Tarantino, was surprised by his win for Best Screenplay.
Small-screen honors went to Showtime's hit "Homeland" for best Television Series Drama, and for comedy, it was HBO's "Girls."
Other big standouts include hosting duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who kept the laughs rolling, a special appearance by former president Bill Clinton, and top honors for actress Jodie Foster, who took home the prestigious Cecil B. Demile award for lifetime achievement.
